We had an eventful game drive this morning - lots of close encounters with animals, which was awesome for practicing our observational techniques.
I've posted some pictures to give you a better idea of what Lake Nakuru National Park looks like, and the animals we've seen today:
We got a close up of some very active vervet monkeys. It was a challenge collecting behavioral data on these guys because they were moving around so much (and it was difficult for us to tell individuals apart). Nevertheless, they were very amusing!

I couldn't resist putting this picture in. Male vervet monkeys have a bright blue scrotum, and this guy was showing his off for us. |

Last but not least, these are some nasty spines on an acacia tree. We've been having to dodge these suckers while driving through bushy areas. |
