Well the lucky streak continues! I'm sure it will storm all next week, and our cars will get stuck in the mud so the universe is balanced once again.
One of the cars saw an aardwolf today, which are very hard to spot around here. It was a sneaky little thing though. We repositioned the car to get a better view and in the 2 seconds we looked away it was gone (It probably laid down in the grass or went into a den hole). However, Nick managed to snap a picture before it disappeared.

Sneaky aardwolf! |
Later, we saw lionesses stalking a family of warthogs. They gave up when the warthogs spotted them, unfortunately for our group of blood thirsty students (They've been demanding carnage).

We found a male lion right by the road lazing around waiting for the lionesses to kill something. Stupid men. |

He was good for looking pretty and letting us get close for good pictures though! |
Another group of students saw cheetah hunting a small topi (a kind of antelope). The cheetah ended up killing it, but the students couldn't see it well due to rain. Still, that's more than many people see after a year working in the Mara!

And of course we've seen lots of spotted hyenas (my favorite), giraffes, elephants, and antelope of all kinds.
Meanwhile, we've had a busy day working on research projects, dancing with Maasai warriors, and taking selfies with a semi-domesticated Eland that hangs around. Enjoy the pictures!
